I first painted with Arthur Jones in Dorset - In the Fall in Vermont -What could be more beautiful!

I drifted away from painting for a long time - First learning Tai Chi from Robert (Bob) Smith in Washington, D.C. And then with the School of Tai Chi Chuan and Patrick Watson, in New York. I began teaching. My last teacher has been Grand Master Sam Tam, who lives in Vancouver, Canada and gave me permission to teach his Yang Style Short Form.

The practice and teaching of Tai Chi has been a constant in my life. In the past 15 years or so, I have renewed my passion for painting - ln my home studio and with Paul Moscatt's Plein Air group.

Tai Chi, which is know as a moving meditation, is a great compliment to my painting. My  painting is also a sort of moving meditation as I am usually standing and moving around the canvas which is either on the ground or laying on my back roof!(see photos).

I usually do a few rounds of Tai Chi before I start painting. When Plein Air painting with Paul we often take a break and do some Tai Chi or Qigong.

As with my Tai Chi practice, my painting continues to grow and evolve. Most recently, I have been teaching at the Hatton Center in Canton. When the Covid-19 virus hit, I moved outside and have been teaching group in Patterson Park on Monday mornings.
